Intake Gasket leak
wow thank you i was stuck on the long bolt in the thermostat housing. i thought maybe the pin that helps line it up was what i was stuck on. I now realize that it was just a pin
. i also have the lower intake off. and i have a couple questions. first i noticed that one of the six hole on the intake looks clean just discolored and the rest are black and dirty? is the common? also when reinstalling the lower intake how do you get that L shaped water pipe back on? i was told that you have to set the Intake with the new gasket down straight so you don't mess up the alignment of it.
Edit: ok never mind about the intake holes color thing i just looked at ur pics and they are the same way so im assuming that it is not a problem

The way I put the L shaped water pipe back is is to remove the piece the heater hoses are connected to, place the LIM on and torque it down, put a NEW L shaped water pipe in the manifold and then slide the other piece on the L pipe. For me, that was the easiest way.
You can pick up the L shaped water pipe for a couple bucks at the parts place and it has new O rings to ensure a good seal.
