i was about to say but as he always does stan beat me to it.... anyway hes right hypertech programers are not worth the cost its better to go with a professional cpu tune from hptuners or a similar company they have premade program sets to get the maxium out of the program

ya, again, very true. If I had $650 to spend, then I would go for it. For $200 or so, at least you can change a few things. I think alot of people would like to have that, but its rather spendy. I know I'd like to have it, but I'm going to build a V6 first.

Hypertech is about $340-350, you can only half-*** adjust things on one, count 'em one vehicle. Mail order tunes are cheaper. Or you can go and Nic said, and as I have done and get the HPTuners. With this, you can program at least four different vehicles. Currently I have '97 3.8's unlocked. This means I can tune anyone who has a '97 3.8 F-body. It's only $150 more than the programmer. It includes datalogging, code reading, adjustment to pretty anything you could ask for. I love it, just wish I had more time to tinker with it.

Musicman, what are you doing for your build?

Great systems, I won't go against that. The hypertech system that I need is discontinued, and a used one slipped through my fingers for $230. Back when I had my bonneville, I had plans to build a V6 for it, bore it out some, get forged pistons, basically build it to take a hefty shot of nitrous. Found an engine on Craigslist for about $150 that was leftover after a guy parted out a rear-ended camaro. Haven't bought it yet, still thinking on it...... But yes, the HP tuning system is fantastic.

because there is not chip in the cpu of a forth gen which can be removed or replaced this design was done in other cars but in forth gens and most modern chevorlets program chips hace for the most part been phased out the chips that you will find on Ebay are 2 dollar resisters that if you put in dont blow you electricitcal system it will improve absoultely nothing....
