My cuz owns a race shop in brooklyn...I've heard a dozen camaro's come in with magnaflows and flowmasters....
if you have a V6...magnaflows sound better with a 2.5 piping. Now if you have a V8 flowmasters super 40 series sound great. Magnaflows give a V6 a more deeper tone..aggressive. Flowmasters on a V6 ( unless you have a true duel setup ) will sound ok..until you hit 3000rpms....then it sounds like an import.

with any v6 exhaust youre going to get raspy up near 4000 rpm's (especially reving in idle). thats pretty much how the 3.8's sound. that shouldnt stop you from getting a nice exhaust system of course. the engine just affects the noise a lot more than the pipes ever will.

heres my FLOWMASTER system. its an 80 series, catco high flow cat, 2.75 inch i pipe, and pacesetter headers. theres also a 3 inch cutout on the ipipe right before the overaxle pipe. http://x602.putfile.com/videos/d8-23619334463.wmv

whats every1's take on a dynomax exhaust system? do u think its a good buy or is magnaflow still the way to go? im definitely leaning towards the magnaflow i think but i can definitely still use some more input on it

Dynomax and flowmasters almost sound the same...flowmasters are little bit more aggressive..but like I mentioned before..magnaflows on a V6 sound great...flowmasters at a certain rpm sounds raspy on a V6...check out magnaflowmufflers.com..and you can hear the sounds...

hey i went to my muffler shop, and he said he would just do like the back half, i think its from the cat back, im not sure. He said he's gonna take out the muffler, and run a striaght pipe tht splits into duals, with two 3 inch stainless steel tips for $150. Is tht gonna be a decent exhaust???

That's a pretty fair price...when I had my mustang they did true duels for me for about $200. You said that you are running straight pipes...are you cutting out the cats?

I have flowmasters on my '98 3.8L with the true duel exhaust system and gutted catalytic converters and it sounds mean...i had the magnaflows put on first and it sounded real low...but the pitch hardley changed as the rpm's went up...it sounded like it was idle the entire time...so if ur gonna go true duel i'd go with the flowmaster's
