Hey everyone i have a 95 3.4L and the pipe before the catalytic converter is half way cut (old owner decided to cut it to get to the starter and halfway tac weld it back on )and i want to get that fixed? Im not going to lie or try and think i know what im talking about here so what exactly is that pipe and where does it go to?( i believe its the y-pipe but i dont know where it leads to ?) Does it go directly to the engine if so what does it have headers ? and whats the diff betweent headers and exhaust manifolds? lol sorry to let it all out at once but what can i say im new to this

 

Headers will look like steel pipes hooked up to the head,and the exhaust manifold will be made of cast iron and kinda look like it's a part of the motor.
