Hurst Shifters, & Jet Chips

Hurst Shifters, & Jet Chips
First question, and it's a pretty noob question. I'm looking at a hurst shifter, just for kicks and giggles, http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/pe...p;brandid=2894
It says it has two shifting styles In-Line Gate Or Rachet Mode, I was wondering what the difference between the two is. Also, does anyone have one, or has anyone put one in? Does it work well? Is it fun? was it worth it, lol, lots of questions.
Also, I'm looking at a Stage 2 Jet chip, and it says that it requires 91 octance fuel. If I keep running it on normal octane fuel, will it make my car run worse than it is now? Or will it simply limit the HP increase potential of the chip? Thanks in advance for any help or answers.

RE: Hurst Shifters, & Jet Chips
I had a B&M ratchet on my old 455 cutty auto 3spd...it was fun to slap and stuff but really gave no advantage to shifting manually when comparing the B&M to stock shifter...
I got mine for $10 from a friend...I personally wouldn't spend $277 for one...

I have a hurst v matic, It just lets you tap the shifter into the next gear without going into rev or park, more of a safty isue when racing. Do you have an auto or standerd?
