How do i put a T-56 transmission in my v6 camaro? Will it bolt to the V6 5 speed bellhousing?

 

no it wont bolt right up and if im not mistaken the t56 has a different spline that the 3.4 clutch

 

I had to ask. Is there a solution other than having parts fabricated that you would know of?

 

i just did a little research and you cant get a t56 on a 3.4 on the other hand i was just reading a post on ftv6 where a guy bolted a t56 to a 500hp 3800

There's a kit you can buy but it's around $1500 plus a tranny. If your not making serious power it's not worth it. I'd tell you the website but I can't remember. You can google it tho.

 

You won't be able to use the 6th gear until above 80mph. The torque just isn't there.

 

How hard would it be to put one on a 3.8 i know theres gonna be sum moding but about how much

 

Same project as a 3.4.(see above link) Infact I do not know of anyone that has done a 3.4, I was using 3.8 project as the base line.

So honestly is there a reason your going to a T56? In the 6 Cyl cars i doubt you'd ever use 6th gear... it seems like it could be a waste of time and effort...

Is your 6 more powerful than normal?
