I just bought this camaro, and the transmission is in park but stuck in neutral. Also the dashboard says it stuck in between park and reverse. The car has been sitting outside for 3 years.

 

I'd ignore what the indicator says. You need to get under the car and disconnect the linkage and see if it moves manually. The cables that move it or the linkage that goes to the indicator may be rusty. Best to disconnect and see what's really going on, then you can address the issues that cause it.

 

There's nothing connected to the transmission but when i change the gears the steering column moves, but now i fixed that and the shifter will not move into any other gear but park-The parking gear does not hold the car in place.

 

Just fixed the shifting problem, turns out there is a cable compressed under there and it was snagged, all i have now is trans fluid and a gasket and it's ready for the next problem.
