Hi I'am new here and have V6 camaro questions
Hi everyone i'am new here and have questions about the V6 powered camaros. I test drove a V6 camaro covertible yesterday and really liked it alot,it had the 3.4 V6 and an automatic transmission. Its a 1995 and has 177,000 miles which by my math comes out to around 16,000 miles/yr,which isn't bad really for an 11 year old florida car. The car runs great its idles smooth and quiet and excelerates and shifts like it was new,I drove this car for almost an hour and all seemed fine. I was told the car has new heads is this the top end of the motor? it also has four new good year tires and a brand new top asking price is $4,995 is this price to high or about right? My questions are are there any issues to look for when buying a camaro with the 3.4 v6 engine? I've head these are good engines in this true? plus I also figure it would be better on gas than a v8 and have cheeper insurance to. I plan to have my mechanic look it over tomorow just to be extra safe. I had a friend who owned several camaros and is very car savy with me on the the test drive and he said he coulden't find anything wrong with it. so what do you guys think of the 3.4 V6 camaros as a general rule? Thanks alot for any help.

without a doubt you will want to look for the 3.8. there is nothing wrong with the 3.4 as far as reliability, but the 3.8 is just as good if not better in that aspect, plus it is much more powerful. for that money, find a 96 with fewer miles and the 3.8. that price is certainly on the high side for 17X,XXXk

The deal isnt terrible but its not amazing either. Id say if you trully love it go for it but if you end up going for it try and barter him down. Also keep a look out for the 3.8. Id say before you think of buying it look out for more camaros.

the price seems high but its up to you. a 95 3.4 auto was my first camaro, i liked it and bought it for 5k but it only had 78,000 miles on it. keep looking around and see what works out best.

that price really is way too high, with the mileage that high, you never know what could end up going wrong. my buddy got a 96 with 112,000 for under 2 grand and the car is mint and runs great. you should be able to find a nice 3.8 v6 camaro for under 4 grand with about 120,000 miles, belive me you will be so glad you waited and got the 3.8 it really is a big difference, especially for the price.
