here is an update from the last overheating post i posted cna anyone help me figure it out please
I have a 95 camaro w/a 3.4L V6. Recently, I checked the coolant level in the radiator because the car was running hot. The level was really low and there was almost no coolant in the overflow reservior. I filled the radiator to full and added a bit to the reservior. Drove it the next day and checked the radiator again. Again it was half empty and there was very little coolant in the reservior, even when hot. . No coolant in the oil andand does not smoke abit at all. there is no leaks no where at all.Where is this coolant going? I'm absolutely stumped on this one
are you sure there are no leaks, have it pressure tested, check your oil, and can you smell it when you drive?
yes i am sure there is no leaks at all and there is plenty of presure those hoses stay under pressure like they normally would and it is not leaking no where at all. i have checked the oil 3 times and nothing and also had it checked by 2 mechanics and nothing they are stumped too. no you don t smell oil or overheating when you drive it put both cause wasn t sure what you were refering to the oil or overheating. when i drive the car there is no sign of overheating like the mormal sign like hearing the overheating bubbling sound, or water overflowing in the overflow or none of that it just runs smooth as can be and the hood don t even get that hot as if it was overheating. its really wierd. its just the guage tell me that it is overheating and don t wanna push it if it really is and blow it up. car runs great and strong as heck. i just don t know what to do or how to go about anything.
park the car and rev it with the hood up, have a friend watch to see if there is a leak anywhere. the leak may only be there under higher pressure (above idle)
did you drain the oil from the bottom of the motor to see if its there? remember water sinks in oil so checking the dipstick will not tell you enough.
