HELP ASAP! Weird 94 Camaro starting problem... strange case...
Hi, I just bought a 1994 Camaro V6 3.4L 5-speed and it was running and driving yesterday but today when I tried to turn it on, it ran then the hose that looks like a V in the V of the intake manifold popped off and the other end where it connects by the EGR. I plugged it back in and when I crank it, it acts like its trying to stop and then a loud pop happens like a gunshot and black/gray smoke comes out from the engine. The spark plugs are in the correct order, there is fuel pressure, and the timing chain isn't broken because I can see the valves moving. I don't know why overnight it decides to not turn on and acts extremely weird. Its getting fuel but its not starting. Its rotating but not starting. Does anybody have any ideas of what to do or had this happen to them before? I need help because I am stumped on this one and I need my car desperately. Also, when the engine is cranking, I try to catch it by pressing on the gas and it revs higher and just shuts off immediately then the loud boom happens. HELP!

It sounds to me like the timing chain has slipped. The cam may be turning but its not in time anymore. How many miles on the engine? The factory sprockets are steel so they should last almost forever but the chain may have stretched a lot due to very high miles.
I think you need to do a compression test.
