Does guttin your cat out give you any more hp? And is it worth it? I dont really want to get all new exhaust right now but i would like it to sound a little better and get a little more performance out off it.

 

Do you still have mufflers?Dude, don't gut the Cats. Waste of time and hard on your motor. Your motor needs some back pressure and gutting the Cats isn't healthy. If your cheap right now, you could just chop the mufflers off and run a straight pipe from there. It'd make it loud, like the Loudmouth, save a lot of money too. Or just save up for a Bassani or Flowmaster. Magnaflow if pretty good too. Talking exhaust systems if more of an, "Opinion," thing. What sounds great to me may sound like a bag of *** to someone else. Though again, if strapped for money, you could do my suggestion of a straight pipe after your Cats. That's what I'd do.

gutting your cat on a v6 makes maybe a 200 hp gain and you can take vipers too.

 

LOL, funny story about the viper.. On the 3.4 when I cut my cat off I notice nothing but it sound louder... Didn't want to pay $300 for an new cat & labor.
Back presure ,hmmm on the very air tight 3,4 , lol... like it needs it ,lol

 

High Flow would prob sound better...

i removed the catalytic converter and all it did was make it louder it sounds nice when driving but sounds like a ricer over 4k RPM if reving in neutral
