You may have to block the wheels, raise the car a little, start it and crawl under it to pinpoint what it is. I had a bolt back out of a torque converter in my ole jeep truck, it was hitting on something and it sounded just like a rod knocking in the back of the motor. Sometimes sounds will make you chase rabbits.
