Put head gaskets on and valve job done, started right up idled around 900 RPM, then rpm started going up, and up, to 2500 stayed there a minute then on up, had to shut it down. started back up done the same thing. this happens every start up. TPS bad ? vac. leak ? cant hear any hissing. it did cough one time first start up and fire came out somewhere around top manifold happened so fast I could not see where, it only happened one time. any ideas? Thanks

It takes a few restarts for the PCM to figure out what you done to the engine, give it a chance o setle downbefore doing anything. Make sure the idle control (IAC)valve is wired & the pintle and seat clear of carbon deposits.

humor me for a second and check inbetween the intake manifold ya know the Y on top of the motor, theres a hose that goes from 2-1 into the top of the motor, check if it popped off, same thing happen to mine, i thought i would die, then i was like oooh SWEET! fixed!

I got a tear in mine and I actually had a problem with it stumbling and wanting to die. I even had it running when I was fixing it. RPMs never shot up on mine. Hmmm, maybe my PCV is shot ?
