weird idle problem

Default weird idle problem

when i turn my car on it automatically revs up to 3 grand n stays there...ive tried waiting for my fuel pump befor turnin it on n yesterday it worked fine n i had no problems but today it doesnt seem ta help n now my car jsu revs at bout 1500 rpm higher than it is supposed to at each gear...any help er suggestions would be much appreciated

That's your airflow sensor - maybe it is bad, as mine had the same behavior when I forgot to reconnect my sensor into the air intake snorkel... Plugging it back in stopped that issue after shutting off the car and re-starting it.

so basically all i hafta do is disconnect my intake and unplug the sensor then replug it and then connect my intake back up?? or is it much mor complicated than that?? wheres the sensor located at?? thanks

Your air sensor may be on its way out...as in dieing. You can try the unplugging it and plugging it back in, but you'll probably need a new one.

you should also check the ground bundle on the front of the intake manifold. there are two studs sticking up on either side. Corrosion can make these lose ground. these bolts can also back off. they ground all your sensors in the front of engine..... IAC, TPS, IAT, Ignition module and temp sensor....
