Default Goodbye 3.4 Hello 5.7

I have a 95 3.4 with front end damage. I found a 95 Z28 (Same color) That was smashed in the rear. How would you go about doing a whole front end "swap" I can do the rear end and tranny but I want the whole front clip from the Z also.

wouldnt it be easier to swap out the rear end of the V6 to the Z28?? not worring about fittiment issues, programming the computer, tranny mounting...none of that. at most you maybe need a new rear axle which is not that expensive at a salvage and totally worth the money for the headaches you will save.

I don't think what your asking is possibe. If I understand what you are asking that is. You are going to have to do the mechanicals and the body as seprate jobs. These cars are not like a 1970 where you can unbolt 4 bolt and roll the fron clip away.

I have not seen the Z yet but the guy said the rear is curled up(it got rear-ended) I know people put rear ends out of Z28s and put them on there V6 and all that. I hear people say if you wanna pull a 4th gen engine you gotta do 2 options 1. Undo the front clip OR 2. Drop the front end. SO what am I asking that is impossible?

Anythings possible, but it's not practical or cost efficient. Why do you think I haven't done it yet? You'd be better off in the long run to sell your 6 for what its worth, and go buy a running Z28.

I guess we don't know what you are asking. You say nothing about an engine in your original post. You say you just want to swap the front end, for cosmetics. You take the pieces off the broke car, and put the "new" pieces on. What are you asking in regards to the engine?

Maybe I an still confused but there is no front clip like the older cars. The fenders and most of the parts bolt to the main supports and the rad support. You going to take it off one part at a time. Its no simple task. The motor is a completely seprate job. If you are looking for a step by step how to take off all the parts on the front end well, Good luck with that, your asking someone to type a 300 page manual.

Maybe you should post some picks of your car. Are you sure your car does not have damage to the main chassie? that is part of the body and frame not the bolton front pcs. There was a post with pics a few weeks back of a car with front end frame damage. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: Check out this post. Page 3 has some nice pics. You can see where the frame is. That area is not removable unless you are a really good welder. If the damage reached the Rad support your going to need to get all the straighten on a frame machine.
