GUTTED IT DID SOME RE WIRING GOT RID OF ALL THE UNECESARY ACCESSORIES AND PUT IN A BIGGER CAM AND BETTER HEADS AND INTAKE AND CARB AND EXHAUGHST SP? ANY WAY. RAN BETTER BUT NOT RIGHT KEPT ACTING LIKE TIMING WAS OFF AND WAS CRAP. WELL I GOT A BAD CAM THROUGH SUMMIT FORM COMP CAMS. INSTEAD OF REPLACING OR FIXING I SAID **** IT AND BULL****TTED A WHILE AND OPENING DAY AT THE TRACK IS NEXT SATURDAY. WELL THIS EVENING I AM GOING TO PICK UP MY NEW 400 LONG BLOCK AND SAY GOODBYE TO THAT SORRY EXCUSE FOR AMERICAN MUSCLE 305. MOVIN ON DOWN... ON DOWN TO LOWER E.T.'S!!! P.S. just make sure your flywheel is balanced for a 400 engine and you have a 400 balancer on the front of the engine because they are diffrent than a 305 or 350

 

OR you could not do that and tell us of the terrible experience you had! lol. would make for a good story

 

itll shake the car crazy the flywheel i used on my 406 was wrong and it shook the car like you wouldnt believe

 

yeah i know about the balancing on a 400 its all good.

 

yea it should run pretty good i just replaced my 305 with a fresh 406 with a huge cam in it has a 510 lift so it sound pretty cool with my loud exhaust

 

I think your going love it that's for sure, I am in the process of collecting the last few pieces for my 400 transplant into my 82 Z-28. I have a stock bore 75 short block that I am putting new pistons, rings, ARP hardware throughout, along with a retro hydraulic roller cam with .563/.574" lift with 1.6 roller rockers. I am using Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads with 200cc runners and 64cc combustion chamber along with Comp Cams Beehive springs and hardware. I will be using an Edelbrock Air Gap manifold with a holley 750 with vac secondaries. Come on spring!!! Have fun with it..
