Hi all. I filled up my car today and stopped filling after the pump clicked off the second time. Went inside to get a drink and when I came out there was a pretty good amount of gas underneath the car and gas was dripping down onto the passenger side tailpipe. I was close to home so I drove it there and parked it for the day. No leaks since. I don’t think it was overfill due where I saw the gas dripping from. Any ideas what would have caused the leaking gas?

 

track leak. i have had the gauge/pump mount/cap at the top of the tank rust out on a truck, lol, took a while to track cause gas was running down the frame and only leaked when full and moving. check vent hose, if it has one, mine does. hose runs from tank to up by the fill hole. also check fill hose for cracks.

 

Could just be the pump just overfilled it.
