Default Electric Cutout placement

I was going to purchase an electric cutout for my 3.8l v6 camaro but I was recently reading the specifications on the length of the y-pipe and it said 12 inches. I originally planned and still want to put it after the header collector but between the header collector and the cat is only 11 inches. Is there anything I can do to still have the cat and have the cutout after the header collector? This may sound dumb, but can everything shift back toward the rear end 1 inch? Will that mess anything up? Please advise.

You might be able to cut an inch off of the cutout...
