Default EGR- Blocking or delete on a 3.4

Is it possible to block the egr valve without setting a trouble code? If so, how? And does the term 'delete' mean tuning and having the egr functions removed from the programming? Car is a 95 with a 3.4. Thanks.

Yeah I did get a code too. It was 76 or 77, for egr. If I'm not mistaken the egr delete should result in little more power, and won't affect how the motor runs.

You've been grossly misinformed about the operation of the EGR. The EGR valve doesn't open at idle, nor at WOT (where you're most concerned about "power"). The EGR system actually does more good than "bad" for your engine. Give this a good read: What Are the Functions of the EGR Valve? | eHow

The article was informative, thanks. It's good to hear all the perspectives.
