Default Dumb Question

I just bought my first Camaro
its a 98 hardtop with 46000 original miles and its pretty much brand new, but my question is the owners manual says it has 200 hp and my title says 32hp which is correct??? its still stock

Well...what sounds more believable? A '98 3.8L V6 with 200HP or a '98 3.8L V6 with 32HP?

32 hp...

for real though 200 h/p at the crank, 1/4 mile time should be 15.9-16.5 if u can drive...

if you ment 320, its for the LS1

That number on the title isn't engine horsepower, it's a "taxable" h.p. number that the state bases it's registration fees on. I think Missouri may be the only state that does that. Are you and/or the car from Missouri?

15.9 stock for manual, quicker for auto.

Camaro 69 is correct. That is the old taxable horsepower rating which was based on engine displacement. Registration fees were based on it. Actually when you look at it, your 200HP engine will never be able to out-pull 32 real horses or even a single Clydesdale. You are getting a bargain when you apply for plates. lol
