coolent
i have changed the thermo and flushed out the coolent too but it seems like after 200 miles of driving the level in the radiator goes down a little bit. the temp gauge is a little high too. untill you top it off. then its where it has always been. if nothing is leaking out that i can see, do you think its a head gasket. and also is it kind of easy to replace em if needed? i did the thermo install about 2 months ago and this stated happening 2 weeks ago.

RE: coolent
i dunno what it sounds like, i might want to leave an opinion up to someone like pete, but i can tell you that changing a head gasket isn't exsactly a walk in the park, i've never done it, but i heard from people who have that its a nightmare, cause u gotta pull apart alot of the engine to get to it. And if u have a mechanic do it, its gonna run ya alot of money. Just make sure they don't rip ya off lol

RE: coolent
Check for leaks when the engine is fully warm. If you don't see any leaks, try changing the radiator cap, it may not be holding pressure. Check the weep hole under the water pump for signs of leakage. Also try a can of stop leak, in case the intake manifold gasket is leaking. You really don't want to go changing head gaskets unless you really need to. All work & no fun, unless it is a hot summer day and you have a case of beer handy.

RE: coolent
thanks for the imput pete.......... i just thought of something, i put the slp air induction thing that goes from the air box down to infront of the radiator, but it never got above 35 out. now this past 2 weeks it have been warm maybe the thing is like blocking air passing through the radiador. and when i sid it was down a little bit its only like an inch below the cap after a week maybe i jumped to concusions and its just going to the overflow thing.
