Default Coolant leak 3.4 liter v6 95 camaro. HELP!

Hey guys,

I've got a problem, car leakes about half the radiator in a 100 miles.. I replaced the water pump, and I got new radiator and new hoses. It seems to be leaking from behind the water pump, which I think is the timing cover gasket leaking. Any input from guys who have hjad this problem, it drips at idle a drop every second so I need to get it fixed. Thanks!

I did my timing cover gasket last summer. Once the water pump is off you just need to take off the 10mm bolts out of the timing cover and remove the crankshaft pulley. Then pull off the timing cover. Make sure you remove all the old gasket off the cover and clean the cover well before putting it back.
If you use the black gasket stuff out of the tube, make sure you leave the car overnight before starting it or putting coolant through it so the gasket sets properly.

I don't think its the intake or headgasket, I may be wrong but I loked at its leaking by tne water pump, which Is why I replaced it. Evedently it wasnt the cuprit and it was the timing cover gasket. Sounds kind of time consuming, I did the water pump in about an hour. DOes any one know how long the timing cover gasket takes to change?

add an hour and if you do it in less you can pat yourself on the back. youll need a ballance puller and installer.

Read my post above yours. I went through the same thing as you last summer. 10 more 10mm bolts and you have to remove the crankshaft pulley. The timing cover will be on tight, so you'll need to use some effort to remove it. Like craby said, you need a pulley puller. A set runs about $20.00 at the local parts store.

Yup, it's not a fun job. So the leak is still there?
