Converting V6 to V8
Whats involved? I know you need to pull the whole engine out but what else needs to be swapped. I found a really cheap body with a dead 6 in it and would like to put an 8 in but dont know all of whats involved. Thanks!

depends on the model and existing engine size as well as if your wanting to stay stock. if your wanting to keep smog control intact. if your wanting to go carb or tbi or tpi. manual or auto tranny. lots of varibles. need more info. Sick

RE: Converting V6 to V8
This is a good question. I have a 2001 convertible with a V6 automatic. I've put 90K on it an it's time to upgrade. Anyone know of a good source for a kit engine to change over my V6 to a V8? Also lookinf for some leather interior kits if someone has a lead on them.

First of all, to keep things in the stock realm, you will need to use a LT1 engine, the LT1 PCM, LT1 wiring harness, LT1 exhaust, acessory brackets, manual trans flywheel & clutch, etc.. The other thing to keep in mind is that manual 5 speed, assming it is going to bolt up, it won't live long behind a healthy LT1.
For the 2001 V6, you have the same basic problem, exept that in this case you will need a LS1 engine and all the other LS1 stuff. Also, your A4 tranny should do OK with a little tweaking.
