Cold Air InDUCTOR

Cold Air InDUCTOR
Hello everybody, the other day I was talking with another camaro guy and he was telling me about a 96 he had with a cold air inductor. Now that is an inductor not an intake or turbo etc, and inductor. I hadn't heard of this before and I was wondering if any of the fine minds on the Camaro forums knew what he was talking about. He claimed that it would put a stock camaro at around 308tq and 300hp. That much power and 1000lbs lighter than a z28 sounds pretty appealing. From what I understood they were basicly trouble free, for life, and actually improves the old mpgs as well as it feeds super cold air into the engine. He said they are rumored to cost around 3400. I am wondering if you guys know where to take a more in depth look into one, where to find them, more info, your opinion, or anything on topic really. Ha Thanks for looking, please help.

I think your friend is having some fun with you, if not your going to have to enlighten us with a link or something. An inductor store engery in a magnetic field. How that has anything to do with an intake is beyond me. I have been in the auto field for 20 years and for the last year I have been playing with the 3800's and I have never heard of it.
Just a FYI your tranny and rear would not last long with that much torque.

no induction system is going to increase output by over 50% from a stock motor...and a V6 motor is not going to weigh 1000 lbs less than a z28. Maybe 50, 100 lbs tops. The 3.8 is all cast iron unlike the LT1 which has aluminum heads so the weight savings is not as great.
