Default Coil Questions?????

Hello forums

I beleave my car is misfiring but only at constant speed or WOT accelerating/throttle.

While driving at a constant speed it will act up and I can feel like jerking/misfire and its feeling really weak but if i let off the throttle and then throttle it again i can get past the stumbling/jerk and it will accelerate more. Then under WOT it will misfire also

Only about twice under WOT I have triggerd a flashing engine light but then it goes away and I cant scan it for anything. unless I go to dealership and they scan for $80

My question is
Is there any diffrence in the brands of coil? Like are the MSD,Jegs,Accel any better then the coils I have bought at the local auto parts store.

This is my 3rd time replaceing the coils on my camaro. Im just wondering if there is a better/stronger coil out there for these cars.

I think you should change your plugs & wires before going after the coils. The stock coils is all your car needs, high power coils do not add power unless the stock coils are bad or the engine has been extesively modified.

I wasnt really looking for high power coils just a coil tht won't wear down and fail as fast.

I'm gonna take out some plugs and check what they look like. (rich/lean)

A bad or old 02 sensor may also cause a misfire right, Cause mine have never been changed and im thinkg at about 93,000 miles it cant hurt to change them i just havent yet cause there so much $.

Ill check plugs and wires z28Pete and see if there the problem. Thanks for the replay. I have some old MSD wires ima install and ill look at plugs

What he said, but put that $80 towards a code scanner instead.

I just replaced plugs with MSD wires (be sure to modify or get new looms), and Denso plugs -- very happy with the results. The bad coil was replaced with a stock one.
