Default Changing Alternator

Well my alternator went out on me finally and i have another stock one to hold me off till spring. I'm planning on replacing it tomorrow, but i'm wondering about how i know where my belt should be adjusted to when i put it back on. Do you just go till it feels snug and has no slack in it? Thanks alot, Drew

I'm not sure I understand your question. The tensioner automatically tightens the belt due to spring pressure.

Ok, i thought the alternator had an adjustor on it. shows how much attention i paid to it. So all i have to do is take some tension off it and i can slip the belt right off the alternator?

It's a pretty straightfoward removal/install. Nothing too difficult. Good luck with it though.
