Battery, possibly Alternator. Wouldn't hurt to have them checked. Mine died pulling into a parking spot last week, but it worked for that day and then wouldn't start the next morning so I jumped it and took it to Les Schwab and thankfully it was only the battery.

Did it just suddenly flame out or were the lights getting more and more dim and then it cut out? Does the dome light come on? Check all your fuses, and check your battery connection by wiggling the wires to make sure you have a good connection. If your connections are covered with white crap then unbolt them and clean them. Water used sparingly with a towel and a wire brush to clean the contacts should do the trick. Reconnect the battery and check the dome light. Does it come on? If it does and it's bright, make sure everything else, stereo, fan, lights etc, are all off and try and fire it up. If however you connect the battery and the dome light is dim then the battery is drained. Try charging the battery if you have a charger or swap out the battery for new one. Again fire it up. Now check your alternator gauge on your dash. You may have one on the far left of your dash board. I'm not certain if that's a standard option. I have one that's all I know. Gently rev the engine. The alternator charge should alter slightly with increased RPMS. If it doesn't and if it just keeps rolling slowly down down down, then you've got a bad alternator and you need to swap that out. If you put in a new battery or charged battery and you still get a big fat nada with the dome light and all your fuses are good then things get more interesting. For now though I'm betting that your alternator died and you didn't notice it until your battery actually failed. When an alternator dies the car will use the juice in the battery alone. This drains pretty rapidly and usually lasts around maybe 15 minutes before it's had it. This is by the way extremely hard on the battery and can shorten the battery life. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Tom
