I bought an aftermarket temp gauge. How do we hook it up without throwing the bcm off?

If the advanced auto parts did found no error then I guess your temperature gauge is on its normal.

if that car has had dex-cool in it, flush the radiator out as soon as you can, My car had pretty much the same problem. just put some green radiator fluid in and get her flushed out
