can my 3.4 handle a turbo?
This got covered on a 3.8 just about a week ago..pretty much the top end will not for sure..the bottom end might, ans youll need to buytuning software so you can adjust the air/fuel and all that..so if its stock then youre gonna need to do some work before hand

Just wondering, How much do you think installing a turbo will cost? You know you need a custom exhaust? an Intercooler and you need to plumb the air from the turbo to the intercooler then back to the motor?

Can you think of any motor ever built that with 140k on it you would trust 10 lbs of boost without doing head gaskets on it? I would be willing to bet if you give me any original stock 3.4 (15 years old) with 140K on it a nice steep hill and I can blow the head gasket in it in less then an hour or blow out the bottom end trying
.
.
For one... There's a lot more to it than slapping on a turbo.
1. Your fuel system isn't strong enough to support even 4 lbs of boost.
2. Without tuning, even if you upgrade your fuelling, 6 lbs will grenade your 3400s bottom end.
3. 10 lbs of boost is going to blow out 90% of your gaskets.
4. Even considering just slapping on a turbo is foolish. Even a 3.8 has to have an injector upgrade and they have an excellent fueling system. Not to mention you don't have boost controllers, and the 3.4 has a HORRID oiling system. On top of that the 3.4 heads flow like crap and even a little boost will blow out the head gaskets.
Basically... Save your money.

ok guys thanks alot. i was talking to a guy who had a bunch of 94 camaro parts. he has all diff kinds of turbos and im already buying a custom flowmaster exaust from him. he says he has all the parts and rolled his car so he couldnt use them. he had no intention to sell them hoewever i asked and he said he would.
i was told that a motor w/ 140 000 would need to be rebuilt if i were to turbo it anyway.
i just thought i would ask and get some guys opioions who know what thier are talking about! lol
