yep, check wiring and grounds. it may be a fusable link goin. they are lumps in the wires,,, more or less. you will need a volt meter and next time it does it start tracking your power. test on each side of the links as you look. you have a small red plastic power junction box on the passenger side wheelwell by the battery. check it out and the conections there. also a ground junction there, check it out as well. wire brush wire ends, battery cable ends and battery terminals. not sure where the grounds are on a v6.

the CKS will not kill all power but it will kill the engine. The battery can do this but usually a battery that can kill the car is also on its way out so much that it usually needs a jump to get the car going. Shorting Alternator, bad connections, bad grounds, aftermarket stereo equips shorting, loose connections at the junction block. Stuff like that can do what you describe.

Sounds like the remote battery post. Check for corroded wires. I had the same problem on my Cutlass.
A buddy of mine had a similar issue too. His problem was bad wiring from the previous owner when they installed the auto-start.
