Brakes!
so its come time to change my brakes.. i have never changed the brakes myself on a car.. and i was wondering how hard it is? i called abound and to do all 4 disk brakes im lookin anywhere from 140 to 300.. and if i buy the brakes myself its more like 45!.. so i wanna do it myself.. any advise? steps i should follow?

well you'll have to look up the specs on the rotors.They are still safe to use as long as they have so much material left on them, also try going to the auto parts store if you dont have a micrometer to measure them.They should have the same amount of material all the way around, they shouldnt be uneven.Also they should be shiny like glass, they shouldnt be roughed up at all, and dont sand the rotors, some guys think you stop better if you sand them and rough them up.That isnt true! it has to be clean and smooth to stop.And its a good idea to have some brake cleaner on hand, i always soak the disc and pad after you take the wheel off(only on the old stuff not the new stuff) that way you dont have to worry about breathing in asbestos.Just make sure the disc/rotor is clean and dry when putting the new pads in.
