bad oil leaking

what it the thing sticking out above the oil filter with a wire coming out of it on my 96 3800 v6 there is a lot of oil gushing out ov it and im not shure wat it is ?

I'm Not Positive About That Model But, Would Bet That Is The Sending Unit And It Most Definately Needs Changing. Sick
