Bad Fuel Gage Reading

If you're getting 450 miles out of a tank, I wouldn't mess with the gauge! lmao

damn maybe thats why I ran out of gas on the highway the other day lol, my gauges are off that 1/4 to ha

your check guages light should come on when your low on gas

With a 15 gallon tank you are averaging 30 MPG. I do not think any of our members have claimed 30 MPG with a 3.4. EPA estimate 28 MPG highway.

Assuming you are hitting 30 MPG you are empting your tank everytime. That is a mistake. once you get below 2-3 gallons your fuel pump gets straved for fuel whenever you hit the brakes or accelerate. This will cause permature failure of the fuel pump. I guess I am a lucky one but the E part of my gage seems to work. But once it touchs E I can not climb hills because it will shift the fuel away from the pickup. I do not let it under a 1/4 tank.
