I removed the antenna mast about a month after I bought the car cause it looked like an rc car but I'm left with the base sticking out. Is there any way of removing that or would it just mess up the lines of the car?

 

Ya you need to remove your spare tire and grab 2 wrenches and turn the nut below and the one outside the panel. The only thing is you'll have a nice 3/4 hole in the fender that you'll have to patch or find a rubber plug to plug it up.

 

Try the GM 8" short version instead, stock is 29" (probably cheaper elsewhere):

Or a retractable one...
