Hello, everyone who is reading this thread. I recently purchased a 97 Camaro RS with a 3800 Series II motor. The guy I bought it from said the motor is crap and the car is only worth parts. In my infinate wisdom I thought hey I can make it work. Well I plugged in my OBD reader and got some codes indiacting that piston 3 had or has a misfire. I figure I would start with a simple tune up and see what happens. There is a long of noise coming from that side of the motor which would indicate it is not firing. So the other thing I have to look at is perhaps cleaning up the motor inside and out. I found a 2 liter bottle of water in the back of the car, and I noticed some DEX Cool mud in the radiator, perhaps I need to clean this car as I would clean my rifle from the inside out. Its a project to say the least. It has T-tops which I like but I found the air bags have both deployed and the dash is completely trashed due to air bag deployment. My question I guess is, is it worth it to clean up and rebuild?

 

Nay want to take a compression reading on cyl 3 & see if it is mechanically sound.
