Default Damaged Interior!

The person before me did not like the tan interior in my camaro and "painted" it black....it looks like garbage. the paint is blotchy and flaking off and you can see the reminense of the original interior. How can I fix this? I dont want busted lookin interior.

my best idea is for you to go to a junkyard and find a car with a tan interior and just start pulling whatever you need. A lot of the pieces are pretty simple to remove. Where are you located? I may have some pieces I could hook you up with too.

alright, I'm in WI. I have a bunch of tan pieces, but I need some of them for my own project. If you get me a detailed list of the pieces you need, I can determine which ones I can get rid of and which ones I'll still need. Do you still have tan seats and carpet?

I painted my interior, but I did a great job on it because I did it the right way. But WD40 or parts cleaner will take that right off. Also duct tape. Paint doesn't stick well to plastic and the way you're talking, it's coming off very easily. If you don't want to replace everything, you can try putting in the time to clean it off.

Hopfully he did not use the correct paint. Paint designed to be used with plastic has a small amount of acid in them and it will melt right into the plastic. These types of paint are almost impossible to remove without removing the top layer of plastic. If he used regular paint it should come off as described. If you have to remove the paint with sandpaper you could repaint the part with the correct color. Black might be easier. When its done with the correct low sheen paint it does not look near as cheap. Its the gloss form the regular paint that makes it look cheap. I am sure the paint falling off does not help
