97 camaro acceleration problem

The connection between the engine rpm's and vehicle speed is the transmission. Even if your engine was misfiring, your car should be going a certain speed at a certain rpm. That, and with the noises you're hearing, sure makes it sound like the trans is slipping, or not shifting correctly (based on how you described it all anyway). What happens when you mash the gas pedal from a stop, or while driving a slow speed? Does the trans grab well and move the car along, or does it slip and glide?

well when i mash the pedal from stop sometimes itll accelerate normally then start the jerking, and sometimes itll just rev to high and i let go of the gas and inch its way up to certain speed then jerk...but while driving slow lets say below 35 most of the time itll move without a problem

have u check the trany fluid level. 69 is right if the engine is reving up like u are on ice but the tires arent spinning then the trany or converter is having problems.
