Nothing dumb a$$ about it at all really. Good plug wires shouldn't arc and spark like that. And a little water isn't going to hurt good wires.
A "leaky" wire can even spark to a ground if there's humidity in the air, but it might be hard to spot depending on where it's located.

Thanks for all the replies I took it out today to try and narrow the issue down and the car had no issues. so that means the problem is caused when the engine gets hot . I also noticed after letting it idle for 15 mins there was water leaking from the brace underneath the cat converter and a lot from the muffler. Would a likely cause of the engine trouble be coming from a plugged cat converter. /crossfingers i hope not

Coil packs changed no difference spark plugs/wires good. gotta pick up a new fuel filter
