95 hood
would there be any logical reason to take the heat shield off the inside of the hood and maybe even open the hood vents? my friends say it would run cooler but i figured the car is made to run at a certain temp so the only reason would be because i'm bored and have nothing to do.

I don't know but I do know this. I removed the one under the hood of my Jeep Comanchee because while I was spending a year in the sands of Iraq, the local field mice decided to make a meal out of the insulation under the hood. I removed all of it and the heat from the engine caused the clear coat and paint to start coming off the hood, at least that is when it started happening. When it rains, the hood has steam coming off it and the engine is running at normal operating temps.

I've read a lot about people opening the vents up. With the LT1's, everyone noticed the engine ran a bit cooler. I'm not sure about what it would do on a six, I haven't seen anyone try. I've been contemplating it myself, but haven't gotten to it.
