Had a problem with it 'ticking' earlier and haven't been able to get it up to the shop yet. A family friend came by and listened to it run, yelled to turn it off and said I had thrown a rod.

If it were really that situation and not what I am thinking, even hoping, it is, then I will need a new motor. I don't really know if I should go about putting in a new motor or just get a new car.

My real intent on this post is simply to find out what motor(s) will fit in my car without an extensive engine bay remodel. I don't even know what to search for to find the exact motor, I end up searching for camaro v6.
