87 Camaro will not shift past 3rd gear.

my 87 camaro RS V6 with run well untill it get to third gear it will just rev......Will a 700R4 work?

If you have an automatic then it is a 700R4. Later one are just name change to 4L60. If you replace it just be sure to get one that fits a 60 degree V6
