I'm trying to help a guy set his timing and the manual says check the VECI under the under for preliminary things to do. Well he has no VECI label.

Can someone tell me how to check the timing on this thing. It says something about undoing the tan/black wire. I'm assuming this is what gives it the advance.

I mostly have experience with V8 Stangs and when you set/check the timing you pull out a spout connector by the dist. and then set it. Does the tan/blk stripe accomplish this on the Camaro?

BTW it's a 91 or 92 I think. What should the timing be set on 10??

What kind of ignition does it have? Distributor or DIS. If it has DIS the timing is totally under computer control and cannot be changed, unless the computer is reprogrammed.
