Default 2000 V6 3.8 Automatic

Hey, im Tony, new to the forums. I turned 16 a little while ago and saved up for a Camaro. This is my first car and man do I love it. Its not the fastest thing out there, but it handles. My question is, at what RPM, should I be switching gears? Ive been using my ears mostly to tell when to change gears. If anyone has any stats or tips on when to switch gears, that would be appreciated. Thanks for the help, and have a nice day

well the car starts to lose power after 5.6k rpm so some were around there when your raceing. But for like just driving around 3.5k does good.

just practice and see what works best...you have to consider the tq range as well. For me (slightly modded) between 5-5.6K is the range I shift

Another question i have is, how do u guys start off a street race, foot on brake while slightly accelerating to get the RPMS up before WOT? or whats your technique, thanks again

well...with stock tires i couldn't do that b/c i would lose to much traction. I have some 9.5" C5's in the back now, so yea, I give a little gas, hold the brake down a little and pop it off the line
