my 98 3.8 has 188,000 on it and it runs good and is still strong, I have to agree with everyone just keep up with maintenance. I put 120k on a 2004 f150 in 1 year at work and it didn't run one bit different but it was well maintained. I don't think miles matter as much as treatment.

i had a 95 olds aurora with the northstar engine it had a little comp inside that could tell you just about anything to do with the engine but when cruising it would go down to 4 cyl and the instant MPG would go up to like 60

i also had a 91 dakota with 385k when i sold it for a grand and a 92 celica with 403k and sold that for 800 both with the original engines

Just keep up with the maintenance and you'll be fine. I have 199xxx on my odometer and the biggest issue was the intake gasket. Just set aside money for the intake cause as everyone stated it is notorious for going bad.

Wink 200k miles and still running

My 98 3.8 5 speed manual has over 200k, I do most of the routine maintenance myself and it still drives strong. It runs good enough to have fun and drive it like I stole it (although I know it's not a v8) without having to pay the price at the pump specially with gas prices always averaging at over $3.30 a gallon.
