Default '02 RS SLP Dual Exhaust - How good is it?

Anyone know how good the '02 RS SLP Dual Exhaust is? This is the 2nd sticker option from the factory, as reflected by the door jamb SLP stickers. I want to know if there is much benefit to be had from an improved cat-back exhaust if so, how much additional RWHP can be expected, and what systems are better? I am asking from the perspective of HP, and not sound.

I know Speed Inc. recommended sticking with the SLP factory 2nd sticker dual-dual exhaust on my '01 SS saying that I would not get much more HP from alternatives... But what about the one on this RS?

Thanks in advance.

the most you will really see about 5hp to the wheels, all youre doing is adding a single inlet/dual outlet muffler instead of a single in single out.

Right, it is rated for 5HP over stock GM. But the original question is will any other cat-back system give me much more HP that this setup? Which is the best HP bang for the buck? Or best HP period, outside of cost considerations? (ignoring other supporting exhaust mods like cat delete or high flow cat and headers which are planned for later)

This has interesting info about the SLP RS: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...specialty_file

If you're going to do other things like headers and a high flow cat I would get an aftermarket cat-back for sure. A good new aftermarket muffler should flow better than the stock Z28 muffler you have on it. Chances are though that you won't notice anything too drastic without the other bolt-ons.

I doubt it. Not enough to warrant buying it. Especially if you don't plan on modding it too much.
