what trany will bolt on
so i have a 94 z28 w/o a trany and i was wondering if the trany from the 3.4 or 3.8 (camaro or firebird) would bolt on to the lt1
im going to get the trany from the junk yard. when ive gone i havent found any v8 camaros there just 3.4 and 3.8 camaros
if i dont find a v8 i want to know if i could use one from one of those

lol i just went through this with my auto 94 Z... you need a 4L60E transmission (there found in just about every rwd chevy) but you really want one from a V8 car (caprice roadmaster impala) anyways it HAS to be from 94 in 93 they used a TV cable and in 95 they changed to the PWM system theres a couple ways to tell the difference first there will be a "PWM" cast into the pump housing on the 95 second the electrical plugs are different... on the 94 non PWM trans there will be 3 groups of pins in the electrical first row is 5pins then a row of 7 with 1 under them and the third row will only have 1 pin (these numbers may be off im not 100% sure on how many pins) but importantly is that 1 pin in the last row if theres 2 pins the trans is PWM and not what you want
