If swapping a 4L60E transmission would be cheaper than to rebuild one. What kind of transmissions would fit in a 94 Z28?

 

another trans from a 94 camaro z28, computer in the 94 is unique. i would think a good trans guy could make one work but then your looking at a rebuild.

 

aww shucks! i'll probably get it rebuilt somehow if its the only way. So I really can't swap it with another common 4L60E?

 

only a 1994 unit will work correctly 95-97 will bolt up but the internall wiring harness and soleniods and valve body are diffrent

Ya 94 is a unique trans. Bet bet is to rebuild, the 94s are rare now a days.

 

I took my 94 Z28 to Phoenix Transmission in Weatherford, TX and they hooked me up. I got a 2800 Stahl converter with a 2nd gear shift kit. I kept the original rear end and it so much faster now. It cost me a couple gs, but now she runs like a striped ape. Make sure the place you choose has good reviews.
