v6 to v6/v8 swap??? just transmission???

Default v6 to v6/v8 swap??? just transmission???

the tranmissions going and wanted to know what would fit in there without switching the motor have a v6 99 maro change rearend probably but dont know if i have to or if even possable someone help me out

The Transmissions themselves should be the same. Your Rearend should be fine also.

Have you tried searching?

IDK about the 3800, but the bellhousing for the V6 transmission may be smaller than the one for the V8.

if just your tranny is going out, all you need to replace is the tranny. v8 tranny won't work without alot of custom work, time, and money.

i have plenty of time... money not quite haha but i already have the v8 tranny thats why i asked and the v6 tranny is so weak i wanna throw a turbo in it but know that the v6 trans wont handle it plz some help or tips

The transmission will not bolt to the engine. You might as well try to put a ford tranny in there. You can swap the internals from the trans but that is a waste of time. If you have the skill to do that you might as well rebuild the V6 unit. The insides of the two transmission are almost the same. The V-8s have more clutchs/plates.

its a manual i wanna put the 6 speed its the 5 spd 6 cyl trans now i think just the splines on the clutch plates are different so im just goin to hafta switch those no?

and the bellhousing is different, the input shafts are different lengths are different i believe. i have only read of one person doing this and it cost a few grand for the shop to do it.

Yeah, he's the only person so far to do the swap, and the shop that did it is long gone (out of business).
