i was thinking about getting a shift kit from b&m for my 93 camaro, its supposed to make the shifting better and smoother, has anyone used this before ?

 

It will make the transmission shift harder. I am not sure about the smoother part. Kinda hard to have both conditions at the same time.

 

so is it not worth getting then ? will it ware the transmission out more than with out it ?

 

The hard shifts will probably make the tranny last longer by eliminating slippage, but the rest of the drivetrain and rear suspension takes a beating. Personally, I don't like shift kits on a street car, because I like to cruise in moderate comfort.

 

if your trans is weak to start with, a shift kit is going to kill it quickly. it doesn't fix problems, it just makes everything firmer and if the trans isn't strong, its' not going to be able to take the added load
