Question Trans Issue

Well Lets Get The Whole Story Out First Off

No Issues At All But An Optispark Code

Got Off The Highway ANd Came To A Stop Sign
Take Off And First Second And Holds In 3rd....

End Up Parking It For The Winter
Change Optispark And Test Drive

Same 1,2, and holds 3

Hook-up Snappy Scanner And Read Current Gear ANd When You First Start Off It Show 1... 2.... 3.... Never 4th And Once It Gets To 3 Never Gots Back To 1 on scanner

Few Weird Things Puts Out A Code 79 Which Has Trans Temp Too High But When You Read The Data Everything Looks Fine

Fluid Looks Normal And No Burnt Smell

Any Ideas????

Thanks All

if everything checks out i would say its in the wiring inside the trans. might try resetting the shift cable. 41 on the list here 4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech Aids
